HouseBot now has an Android Software Remote!
An Android Software Remote allows real-time monitoring and control of your HouseBot system from any Android device. The Android app is constructed dynamically from the Theme Designer in the HouseBot server. Themes allow the user to use predefined user interface widgets, or users can use their own graphics to create very customized interfaces.
What is HouseBot
HouseBot is a Home Control solution that provides control and status of many types of home automation equipment. It is expandable to incorporate new devices and custom hardware.
HouseBot runs as a Windows application that can use a variety of automation protocols to provide a heterogeneous solution for home control. Software Remotes extend the control of the automation server by using customizable graphic interfaces that can run on remote (and mobile) devices.
How it Works
Connecting
HouseBot connects to other devices through "hardware interfaces" that connect to the PC's USB, serial, and ethernet ports. HouseBot's open platform allows new interfaces to be added through an SDK.
Automation
Tasks are created with a simple point-and-click task wizard to set up sophisticated events without any manual programming. Tasks allow monitoring and control over any Device setup in the HouseBot system.
Software Remotes
Software Remotes run on Android, Windows, and Windows CE devices for real-time monitoring and control of your HouseBot system. Software Remote user interfaces are constructed by simple drag-and-drop editing to create interactive (2-way) control panels.
Downloads
The complete HouseBot system is available in two different options (Trial and Full License). Both use the exact same installation files but are just licensed differently.
The current version is 3.56. Older 3.x versions can simply reinstall the newer (free download) version over the existing install and retain the prior licensing.
