Poll Use of DVDProfiler

Post by Circe640 »

I am interested to find out how many of us HouseBot users use DVDProfiler for our DVD librarian.

I do. I am currently using myHTPC as my media frontend and am thinking about how to integrate it with HouseBot. Until myHTPC v2 comes out I think I will just use a HouseBot software remote to control the myHTPC interface and try to setup Girder with DVDSpy to send 'now playing' info back to HouseBot.

By the way, I've written a utility (one of many) to convert DVD Profiler XML files to myHTPC metadata files if anyone is interested.

DVDProfile Plugin

Post by Circe640 »

The reason for the question is that I am about 3/4 finished on writing a plugin for HouseBot that will allow you to build the same type of panels that you see in myHTPC or XLobby for DVDs. The external XML parser is complete and working. I am 1/2 through the HouseBot dll plugin. Another week or so should see that completed. Would be interested in finding one or more people to test it so I don't impose on Scott. He's already been testing my JukeBot plugin.

Once I have confirmation that it works properly for more than myself, I will then dig back into the Windows Message functions in HouseBot to implement control for TheaterTek.

That's awesome; I would love to be a beta tester. PM me to let me know how I can help.
