Hi,

Modes either enable or disable a given set of tasks by setting the mode to active or inactive.

For example, I created a task called 'Holliday Actions' This task turns on and off lights during evenning hours when it is enabled. I also created a mode called Holiday. When I set this mode to active the task 'Holiday Action's' becomes enabled'.

This allows a user to easily turn on one or more tasks that are assigned to a particular mode.

When i go on vacation, i simply set my Holiday mode to active.

Hope this helps,

Kevin

another example is modes for a security system:

disarm, arm - stay, arm - away

by using modes you can enable or disable various zones.

@Raptor:

Not sure how a Mode would help you here?!
I have an Alarm Mode and when Active all Alarm related stuff like turning on/off lights etc become active. When the Mode is InActive the Alarm leaves all of these Tasks alone.
In what context do you use Modes concerning your alarm?

Well what i was doing was enable and disable zones by modes.

So lets say zones 1 & 2 are in arm away and only zone 1 is in arm stay.

i can enable or disable the zone 2 tasks only in arm away.

Basically controlling 1 task with 2 modes.
