Hi there,

I am planning on doing a smallish industrial type project. I want to hook up 3 pumps and a few valves to a comp in the house (other things may follow - such as control of horse troughs).

I have downloaded HouseBot and am seeking advice on what components to use - ie should i hook up a PLC directly to the comp and can i control it's ports using HouseBot? I have heard about DAQ boards and am wondering how this solution compares to a PLC.

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers,

Simon.

Simon,

I can't help you on comparing DAQ boards to PLC, since I know little about DAQ. However, you might also want to consider the ADI Ocelot combined with one of their SECU16 modules for the relay control.
