Sunrise and sunset times have wrong am/pm

Post by jhoski »

Just installed HouseBot, set my latitude and longitude. The sunrise and sunset times are correct except am and pm are backwards.

Current time is 1/3/2010 5:33:00 pm
My latitude is 42 N, longitude 88 W.
Sunrise says 1/2/2010 7:36:00 pm -- This time is right, but should be 1/3 and am.
Sunset says 1/3/2010 4:48 am -- This time is right, except should be pm.

Trying to use the sunrise indicator but it's confused by these dates.
Any help is appreciated.

Did you put the "longitude 88 W" in as -88? Western needs to be entered as a negative number. I screwed that up the first time I used HB and it caused my times to be off until I fixed it.
Thanks,

Yes that was it thanks.

FYI, I spent all weekend searching for a replacment to my Powerhome system which is too much work to maintain and it looks like Housebot will get the nod.

It was fastest to get some of my automation working and it looks to be the best balance of easy to use and having enough power to to the tricky stuff.

I've compared it to:
Homeseer
Mainlobby
ECS
mControl
Girder

Basically everything listed on the Insteon software page.
