Re: Weather.com Plug-in

Hello Alan, Thanks for writing this plugin. Installed last night, using your latest version 1.0.3 on codeplex. I also got an API license for the free version of World Weather Online, described as "Free-Weather-API-V2". I entered this when prompted in Housebot, and I can see it's correctly ...

Re: My Setup

Just taken time to read about your implementation. Impressive!

Thanks for taking the time to share what you have done. I'm looking to display indoor (well, in-camper) and outdoor temperatures, and your solution looks very promising.

Nicely done indeed. Clean and timeless look to the hardware and graphics. Good to see some new projects on show.

Re: Get GPS & Navigation Info from Mapfactor Navigator 14 TCP - how difficult?

Thanks Both, Osler hey? - I remember the Sonos plugin he wrote. Fantastic stuff. I feel I'm always asking, but I think it's down to the affect this solution has on you when you start to realise its possibilities - you don't know when to stop! There's a bunch of people using custom "front ends&q...

Re: Get GPS & Navigation Info from Mapfactor Navigator 14 TCP - how difficult?

Thanks Scott, There's a free version of Mapfactor Navigator, which also uses the same base program (just free maps), and employs the same TCP features. The free version is here: http://navigatorfree.mapfactor.com/en/ And the supporting text: http://kb.mapfactor.com/kb/Navigator/RemoteCommands Finger...

Re: Get GPS & Navigation Info from Mapfactor Navigator 14 TCP - how difficult?

Hi Scott,

I've looked into the Com port option. Everything is on the same PC and as such I'm looking to avoid hardware such as RS-232 ports on USB. I've tried virtual com ports before, but the TCP option would I think be the most robust.

Is TCP going to be "a lot of beers"?

Cheers,

Tony

Get GPS & Navigation Info from Mapfactor Navigator 14 TCP - how difficult?

Hi Folks, Housebot is proving to be a great tool for providing the UI for my campervan PC system. Housebot (with Girder) is controlling: Navigation, Rear View Camera, and Music using the new Housebot JSON RPC Kodi.dll (currently in Beta). The Kodi plugin has opened my eyes to the versatility and pow...

Re: XBMC plugin?

XBMC or Kodi (since latest 14.0 release) would certainly be a great addition. I use housebot in my campervan as a front end. Behind this is a number of applications including Kodi 14.0 Housebot adds some touch screen buttons (getting away from the requirement to skin)- these send commands to Girder ...

Hi Tim,

Many thanks for your reply - what you're explaining makes sense, and I shall focus on the latter options to start with.

Feasibility question: plugin for VCDS car diagnostics

Hi Everyone, I use housebot in my campervan. Why?! - Sonos control ( but its expanding). Osler has a plugin which gives you all of the Sonos uPNP information - it's up to you how you display it. Requirement OK. On a similar theme, I also have VCDS VW Audi diagnostics. It connects with a usb interfac...

Re: Calling Sonos users

Hi Osler Good luck to you. I have about 75% of a .net class completed that recapitulates the .wsc. Stay tuned as I am dusting it off to start working on it again. Any news?! I'm brushing the dust off my Housebot manual ready for a funky new build on an Asus EP121 tablet. Your Sonos solution is one o...

Re: Calling Sonos users

Yes that does it. Didn't use the new MusicSelection tasks within my existing zones. Added the logic and working well.

Excellent!

Anyone else enjoying sonos radio control?

Thanks Osler

Re: Calling Sonos users

Hi Osler, Been a busy week, so have only just made the changes. Looks great - I can now view all of the radiotime lists, whilst keeping favourites. Time for a dumb question: - as with the radio favourites, I can see the radio stations, and can scroll up and down the list. What am I doing wrong with ...

Re: Calling Sonos users

Hi Osler, Radiotime would be great for me, although I also don't subscribe to any paid services. On the subject of album art: I've been working on the retrievel script, and have had some interesting experiences. I've put in a couple of late nights, and this is where I currently am: Status: Script st...
