Jason, You can create an 'automatic' task (when conditins are met) that would check that the new value is within the range, and fix if necessary. It should look like: If ('Receiver.Volume' is greater than '99') then Change 'Receiver.Volume' to '99' Make sure that the 'execution mode' of the task is ...

WinAmp3 keeps loading coninuously

I'm not sure if this is a bug, but now it prevents me from using HouseBot. I wanted to try the winamp plugin, so I downloaded the latest winamp version (3) and the HouseBot WinAmp plugin. The problem is that apart from not playing music, it keeps trying to load WinAmp. I keep getting an error messag...

WHAT A GREAT SUPPORT!!!!!!!!!!!

Every time that I contact Scott, not only he gives me an answer, but he also thinks forward, shares his thoughts and provides valuable information. Moreover, responses come VERY quickly. This is not just a one time shot. It is repeating over and over again. It is a pleasure! Scott, thank you so much!

I am not for voice commands. I believe that it is very unreliable, especially over the phone. Tone commands are fine. Integrating this with an answering machine would not only remove the need for an answering machine unit, but also prevent problems that might occur if you already have one. (Because ...

Phone Control

It would be great to be able to run tasks by dialing to the system. If the phone line status device can be enhanced to become a smart answering machine that can also run tasks, this would be wonderful! I am willing to help with the development. And once again - HouseBot is a GREAT application! Thank...

I originaly thougt of the text-2-speech plugin, but at a second thought it came to me that it is not enough. (I admit I did not try the plugin, and only had a try with the speech engine of Microsoft in the past). The trouble with the speech engine is that it is poor in pronouncing names. Moreover, i...

Announce caller name

The modem/phone plugin has a nice feature that attaches a name to the caller' number. It would be even nicer to have the system announce (via the speakers) the caller' name. You can further allow to record start and end messages that would come before/after the caller name, and also allow to enable/...

Great Job

Scott, You are doing a great job. I like the software a lot. It has many features and it is very flexible. I am using HouseBot extensively for 3-4 months . From the experience that I have with HouseBot, it is VERY reliable and full of features. But that is not the point. The greatest thing is the us...

That's great Scott. While working on the pop-ups, please consider this: Following your suggestion in the help file, I use pop-up panels for devices like DVD and VCR, so they cover part of the main panel, while the part not covered by the pop-ups is used for general things like lighting. While switch...

'Remarks/Comments' field for items

It is not always possible to choose a short descriptive self-explanatory name for devices/properties/tasks/panels. For example, a property value may have a meaning only when read from a vb script, or a device that may have a special meaning, or a task that is not trivial. It would be helpful to have...

I have the same problem as Hian, and would be happy to have the option to lock the position of pop-up panels. Duplicating and maintaing controls is prone to errors and in some cases may require a lot of time.

TIA.

Scott,

The 'position-offset' property is a nice option. I didn't notice it earlier.

It should be enough.

Thanks,

Positioning text on controls

All control buttons' text is automatically left justified. It would be of value to have a property that would define the position of the text on a button: Left, Center or Right. In the language that I use (Hebrew), we write from right to left, and text that is left justified looks bad. A workaround ...

'Sticky' Control Buttons

For operations that require multiple strikes of a button (like dimming or moving the shutters up/down), it would be nice to be able to determine the behavior of a button like: - If a button is pressed (cliked) for a very short time (determined by the user), one type of operation will happen (like tu...
