Squeezebox Touch

First, Happy 2012 to you all.

I have played with the softplayer of Logitech and I can control it from Housebot (xAP).
Now I think of buying an Squeezbox Touch, is it possible to show for example temperature, status of alarm, on the touchscreen?

Is there someone who is using this?
Is it an good idea to go on xAP or is it dead? Latest release is from a while ago.

Well, without help I have it working, I have an SqueezeboxTouch and can control it from Housebot.
Also can I show for example the temperature on the touchscreen.

i have xperimented some with this too... and have a working (but complicated) solution. Can yu describe your setup in housebot? Listner device? Leveldevice? and sender? can you start playlists from HB too? does the volume work on HW player too? ( i had problems with HW player but not softplayer...)

To control the SqueezeboxTouch I use the Xap Sender and an task to control it

For the level control I use xAp BSC Level

To adjust the volume I run an script to change the level + or -

tnx. i do similar... i guess you have a xAP listner to get album and artist too?

are you using any other xAP SW? xAP speech?

Yes, I use xAP listner for the play info, I use also xAP speech, what do you use?

i use:
xAP speech (and tried xAP voice for voice commands) on 5 computers
xAP squeezebox plugin and squeezeplay software player on 6 computers
xAP Netiom , 7 spread around the house
xAP plugin for outlook (outlook sends xAP mess on scheduled events
a home made xAP Gateway to DALI for light control
a home made xAP Gateway to Telldus to control NEXA
Beyondmeasure (.se) for 1-wire and graphing (it can do much more and have xAP)
xAP blue for bluetooth presence monitoring

planning to make a xAP CID with lookup for swedish numbers
testing of xAP in arduino to make local autonom controllers that speak xAP ( sauna and jacuzzi )

some touch screens and a windowsmobile phone with HBremote on ( would really like to have HBremote on android)

xAP looks like a nice but "fuzzy" spec, its a great way of distributing I/Os and apps around the house, good to have a hot HB backupsystem that can go live with just a click in xAP transmit... nice to have a development system with access to all I/Os and apps... but it would be nice if the community would be more active and more apps was around... (sounds a little bit like HB too )

Wow, nice to see XaP in use! I am really glad folks are using it too. I am starting to work it in a bit using the XaP News and Weather into Housebot..they work well. Too bad the XaP forums do not see much development. I wish it would catch on more. Sorry for being off topic...but just wanted to give a shoutout to XaP!

expert, not ! i am not complying to the standard as law ... i am happy as long as it works with HB... and its a good way of getting I/Os to HB...
we are a "crowd" of xAP entusiasts here and its a good way to connect each contribution to the system...
lets start a xAP thread here! i guess its more people trying xAP but backing off cos low activity on the forums...

Do you have problems when switching from album to a radiostation... the album name "sticks" ? its probably cos its no album info on a radiostation, but it would be nice if it blanks instead of showing old albumname...

Yes, I have that problem to, maybe you can clear the album name if you switch to an radiostation by an task.??
