roussell discusses the basics of getting swremote.exe to act as a shell application here:

An issue with this is that if you exit the swremote or it's process terminates for some reason you are left with few options to log off the RDP session. I have written two applications that work together to start swremote.exe in a simple shell and monitor for termination of the swremote.exe process. If swremote.exe is terminated you will be logged out of the current RDP session.

Set-up procedures are in the ReadMe file.

This is ideal on touchscreens without keyboards (cuwin, iphone, ipad) which are used to RDP into a HouseBot server that has been made capable of hosting multiple RDP sessions. This should increase the WAF as the swremote is started upon connection to the server. Also, I have found that termination of the swremote yielding a typical Windows desktop on a screen meant only for control purposes is very unappealing to my wife.
