Duplicate Log Entries

Post by edgar »

Hello All,

I am experiencing a strange situation I think. I am tracking the state of devices and logging them to a log file. For some reason, many times I get two log entries with the same time/date stamp status that are EXACTLY the same. This seems to be the case on many devices and I don't know what is happening... Am I missing something about how logs work in HB?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Generally speaking, you would only want a device to change to a state once and that's the way it should work. However, sometimes interdependent tasks and scripts can end up running and changing things that you didn't know about. I'd suggest looking at the 'History' table for the Property that you are seeing duplicate logs. Sometimes the 'Changed By' field will help you figure out why it is being changed multiple times.

Depending on the Device and the Property, you may want to uncheck the 'allow same value changes' checkbox.
