Simple TCP/IP commands from HB?

Hello. I am trying to send simple TCP/IP messages to networked devices. is this possible in any easy way? (ascii like " stop CRLF")
- is any device/interface development done for this?
- can i do it with scripts?

i use VB and external control for feeding network data back to HB and it works fine. (get current song info and this kind of things)

of course i can use external control and let it poll a property but it will get lots of polling to just do pause on a media player once a day with deasent response time....

this functionality will also help me to connect a midi dimmer connected to a networked pc without polling a dim property in HB at high speed...
