Direct X10 command "Status Request"

Post by alibaba »

How can I use the direct x10 command "Status Request" within housebot?

Does it update the properties of the device with their current state of the device?

Which devices are supporting this feature?

Thanks

Only certain X10 devices support Status Request. Many times the devices that actually support the feature are considered 2-way devices and will send their status when their state changes. Any changes, whether received from a status request or as a response from a 2-way switch, will cause the Properties of the HouseBot Device to be updated.

This behaviour is well known to me.

But I have a certain time during the night where my computer is turned off. After the reboot and the start of housebot, it would be good if I could send a status request, to get the correct state of the device in housebot.

If the state was changed during the power-down period.

So how do I send this status request from housebot?

Each HouseBot X10 Device has a Direct X10 Command Property. If you change that Property to Status Request, it will issue the command.
