GC-100 up and running

Post by Circe640 »

Setting up the GC-100 was a peice of cake. So far works directly with the Xantech mini mouse emitters flawlessly. Tomorrow I will cable it up to a XAntech distribution block and fire up 5 double emitter cables -- 9 pieces of IR gear and start a test in full hit mode. Next on the list is playing with the serial port. Trying to decide whether to run my Marquee 8501 via serial or via IR. With the Xantech on IR port 1, I still have 2 IR ports free on the GC-100.

Running the GC-100 with the Xantech distribution block worked perfectly. The only problem was to use IR ports 2 and 3 you have to enable the confirmation option via the GC-100 web page.

Global Cache control

Post by tmiles »

I am using the GC-100 to control a Zenith plazma display and a Yamaha RX-V2400 via RS-232 and several other pieces of gear via IR. I love it! It was very easy to set up once I got the hang of it and found the serial command strings from the manufactures.

My next step is to figure out how to receive RS-232 data from this box (mute, volume, power on/off feedback etc...) Has anyone attempted this feat?
