Any Interest in a clipsal c-bus housebot plugin?

Post by MrNemesis »

I am a Network admin who freelances after hours for a home theatre/home automation company in Australia who uses clipsal as opposed to x10 for home automation systems.

As my new house i plan to build will be using clipsal gear I am planning to code up a housebot clipsal c-bus enabled plugin.

I'm after anyone who already has clipsal gear or might be interested in helping coding/testing a plugin with me.

For more info about clipsal: http://www.clipsal.com/cis/profile.php3

Just curious as to what product they offer that interfaces to the computer for controlling the system. I gave the site a quick look, but nothing jumped out at me. Can you send me a link to the PC interface?

No probs the main pc interface module is this rs-232 module:

The software they currently use is:

Alot of the control systems are expensive wall mounted monochrome touchscreens and the clipsal pc based software looks and feels clunky.

I plan to use the main control modules for lighting, HVAC, and security but use something like housebot and pda's on the house WLAN to control the system functions from scheduling to general operations.

Hi MrNemesis,

Did you ever get the Clispal C-Bus interface going? I live in Adelaide and will be building a house soon.

CBus Plugin

Post by rhythmicplanet »

Could you guys please let me know if anything has happened with the creation of a plugin for Clipsal's C Bus product. Would hate to start from scratch if there has already been some progress made.

cheers

C-Bus ... via xAP maybe

Post by CouchPotatoe »

Also very interested in what's happening here ??

I have a lot of C-Bus installed but very new to Meedio. I am actually a C-Bus Enabled Partner and have coded an embedded xAP to C-Bus gateway. I am thinking of approaching this with a xAP plugin that will bring a whole host of devices/control to Meedio . But it may take a while - a direct C-Bus plugin would be great.
