I am new to housebot and am just about to decide how I will set up a small network at home.
I plan to install LINUX on my server and would like to know if Housebot will run as a WINE app? I could not find Housebot on any of the WINE sites.
all tips are welcome.

I've never tried it and I've not heard of anyone doing this.
I don't know enough about WINE to even guess whether it would work or not.
If you try it, please report back on your luck.

Just to bring a post back from the past...
I am successfully running the Windows swremote.exe under Wine on Ubuntu Linux 6.06LTS (Dapper Drake). You'll need mfc42.dll from a new version of Windows (mine came from the 2003 server that I'm running HB on) but that's about it. So far, I've only tested the sample theme and a small one written for my Cingular 8125 phone, but both seem to work fine. The 8125 even includes dynamic images updated from a couple of webcams every second.
I haven't tried the server yet, but that's next...

Interesting. So it looks like you could install wine on a PepperPad3 and run a software remote on it ($679 at eCost).
