GC-100 and Generic Serial Devices

Post by BotAll »

I've installed the GC-100 Hardware device and notice it made reference to a supposedly existing Generic Serial Devices plug-in. I've looked at the list of plug-ins and I don't have it. Does anyone know where I can get the plug-in from?? It suppose to be a standard plug-in that comes with HouseBot.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks...

The Generic Serial Device isn't like other devices, so it won't show up in the list as a device. This Device is configured by first creating a device definition for the equipment you are trying to control. This is done from the "Settings/Configure Generic Serial Port Device" option from the main menu.

For more info on setting up device definitions, see the Configuring Device Definitions section of the online help.

Once the device definition has been created, you will see the new device as an option when creating new Devices in the system. You will then be able to associate the Property Values of the Device to configured commands in your GC-100 Hardware Interface.
