Problem learning an IR button with USB-UIRT

Post by Hian »

HI,

I have a Pioneer LD player and I have learnt most of the IR remote button w/o any problem. However, one particular button (tray open/close) does not work. Here is the debug info I got

IR data received. Frequency = 39838

IR data received. Frequency = 39823

IR data received. Frequency = 39842

IR data received. Frequency = 39877

IR data received. Frequency = 39864

IR data received. Frequency = 39852

IR data received. Frequency = 39891

IR data received. Frequency = 39902

IR data received. Frequency = 39902

Stage 1 learned successfully. Found best sample code [435D105104F0]

This looks like the button is sending alternating code. I have re-test some other buttons that works and they show consistent Rx sample (not alternating)

I have tried learning with Girder and that seems to work (the tray opens and then closes - at least the player responses) and the USB-UIRT setting shows:

code 1: 02BB41AB550B200A0080882A22820228A80000000000000000

code 2: 82BD41AB55200B0A000022AA88A20208A800000000

I do not know what these means.

Is there anyway to make this button work with CeBotics?

Can I generate the pronto code from each of the alternating code

[435D105104F0] and [431D411054F0] and then paste them together as one IR code or assign them to two different IR codes and attach them to one device property?

Also I found some RC5 codes for Pioneer LD players though I am not sure if they works on my player. Is there a way to convert these to Pronto codes or to import them into CeBotics?

Thanks.

Hian,

HouseBot uses the Pronto code format for storing IR codes, whereas Girder uses a raw format which is why the codes that you see do not match between the two applications.

I would suggest looking at RemoteCentral.com and finding the Pronto code for the tray open/close button for your particular LD player. You can paste the code directly into HouseBot instead of learning it from the remote. This may work for you.

Getting the codes from RemoteCentral can be a bit of a pain if you aren't familiar with the ProntoEdit application (or don't even have it installed). If you need help, let me know the model of the LD player and I'll see what I can do.

Also, are you trying to just have HouseBot SEND the IR codes, or are you wanting to receive them also? I see that when you were learning you specified the 'Received' option which is not necessary if you are just wanting to send codes.

MyLd player is Pioneer CLD-D580. Can't find an extact match in Remote Central. But will try some of the models there to see if it works.

I will use CeBotic to send the IR codes only. I use the receive option in the hope of getting more debug info.

Thanks anyway and will try my luck.

I found a code for a CLD-D585 that may work. Try the Pronto code below.

Thanks

I have found CLD-505 works and the USB-UIRT driver 2590 also fixes the learning problem.

Thank you very much :o
