Escient Fireball: W/Housebot

This is sort of off-topic, but I'm going to sneak it in by way of HB. Does anyone have experience with the Escient Fireball, specifically the E40 or E120? And what is the best way to integrate it with HB? It can be controlled via IR, but some threads on the AVS Forum (http://www.avsforum.com) say that learning the codes may be difficult at best. Plan B is generic serial - their user guide has what appears to be the full protocol. Plan C would be a future HB plug-in. I don't have a Fireball, but am looking at music server options and have to consider how it would fit into the HB community. Input, anyone?
