Re: Browser client, OS independant

Hi Tim,

I think your idea for this is exactly what HB needs right now, especially with Windows Mobile so slow out of the gates. It really allow for the flexibility...Very much looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Re: HTML5 iPhone/Android access tips

Hi All, I have seen Terry's IPhone screenshots and they look great (native to the iPhone/Touch) however before moving off in this direction with my (mediocre at best) coding skills I would like to know about one thing. I believe the html 5 solution uses the external control application? The control ...

Re: 1 wire xAP / DS9097U Help

Jayne, Great info on the 1-wire. Is your interface a RS232 or USB? If I may ask, what are your plans for your 1 wire network? I have only a RS232 interface and a single temp ibutton from a few years back. I never really did get that far with it but like the possibilities. RFXComm is attractive as we...

Re: OH GURU! PLEASE LEED ME IN THE RIGHT PATH

Hi Dom,

I use OCELOT. Pretty straight forward...just need to add it as a hardware interface, assign the correct com port and you should be good to go. HB docs are pretty good as raptor indicates.

I use my OCELOT for IR only....I am thinking of upgrading to a USB UIRT though.

Re: New X-10, Old X-10, Insteon and Z-Wave ??????

Hello, I have mostly all Insteon installed right now. I don't have alot of experience with Z-wave but many articles seem to favor Insteon better (see below). Here is my experience with the survey: OLD X-10: unreliable, very prone to noise New X-10: not much experience with it Intseon: I have about 3...

Re: Google TV, Logitech Revue, and Housebot?

Correction to my post everyone.

Looks like $300 only gets you the Google TV device and a keyboard. Still looks kinda cool though....something to watch!

Google TV, Logitech Revue, and Housebot?

Hi All, It will be interesting to see how Google TV and the Logitech Revue work out. Consider this as a what if: What if the Android or IOS apps like IRdesktop are available on the Revue....that could be a usable link to HB. I already use IRdesktop for my itouch.....its sweet. You can even use your ...

Re: Change Mode

Hi, Modes either enable or disable a given set of tasks by setting the mode to active or inactive. For example, I created a task called 'Holliday Actions' This task turns on and off lights during evenning hours when it is enabled. I also created a mode called Holiday. When I set this mode to active ...

Re: What do I do now

Hi Dom, Your setup should work fine. Don't forget to setup your HBServer correctly. Scott includes a sample theme to get you started. 1) Create a theme that includes controls for example a button to change the property state of an X10 device (light) for example. 2) Create a Software Remote that call...

Re: What do I do now

Yes, you must have a TCP/IP (network) connection to enable communication between any SWRemote and the HBServer. So hard wired LAN, or WIFI for in your house. Connecting over the Internet is doable but requires a little more tweaking. Your SWRemote needs the name of the remote (you create) and the IP...

Re: What do I do now

My Housebot PC stands alone in the basement/wiring closet where all the other hardware devices connect. I use Remote Desktop from my laptop or any other PC on the network to remote into the Housebot PC for Housebot development. VNC is also available for this. This solution works well for me. v/r Kevin

Control Focus Managment and List Controls

Hello all, I have searched the forums and have found no other threads that hit on the issue that I am having. It appears that when I have a list control as part of a theme/SWRemote and have the 'Control Focus Management' enabled on the SWRemote I crash the SWRemote when i switch to the panel with th...
