Re: Is Housebot dead ??? Last release April 2009

Android or iOS...either one would probably cause me to switch to that device as my 'daily driver' as I love Housebot so much! There is only so much I can do with EventGhost and getting that to work over 3/4G has been a royal pain. The Android or iOS remote would completely propel HB back into the ma...

Re: Insteon PLM USB vs Insteon PLM serial

Hi All, I thought I would chime in here...I have not been on the forum in a while. I am very frustrated with my USB PLM. Same model as the one mentioned here that uses the FTDI drivers. My PLM will sometimes lockup and when i try to disable it in HB then re-enable, I get a COM Port Access Denied Err...

Re: TCP Client Device Plugin

Hi Art,

I worked with this a while back and actually re-compiled the code for it. What OS are you using....I am thinking that you may not have the dll registered. If you are using Windows 7...64 bit you will need to register it manually.

Re: Using XAP?

@CouchPotatoe, I also want to thank you for your great posts.....tons of great information in there and it will keep me busy. I checked out your website and realized I had been there before working on XaP stuff. I was really facinated by your XaP work on CurrentCost Envi. I have build a crude vbs sc...

Re: Google Calendar XML

Hey folks, I cannot imaging this would be too difficult to script in VBS, especially for a VBS guru, unfortunately which I am not. The reason I say this is that I was able to get a script that checks my ENVI Powermeter. It spits out XML every 6 seconds. I created a generic serial device and launch a...

Re: webRemote/Housebot WebServer - March Release

Hi Tim, My Themes seem to load ok (again formating is an issue but I am guessing when you develop themes you will need to use actual size images, vice scaling them in the theme?). I did find what I think is a bug in HB that may/may not have been found before. If you rename a Theme or Copy a Theme in...

Re: Community Feedback Required - webRemote

Hello Timoh, Firstly let me start by expressing my sincere gratitude for your hard work on the WebRemote. I appreciate it very much! Well Done! If HB is to continue to be a useful tool for folks there must be support for non-windows based devices especially mobile devices. If not then I am afraid HB...

Re: What should a HB mobile app look like?

Great post Timoh, It appears to me that HB was designed to be a thin side client with thick side server app. This is not unlike the way of cloud computing and VMware with thin client solutions are going. Given that, I don't think the server side was ever intended to be mobile. If you need to get to ...

A Video of Housebot

Hey Fellow Housebot users, I wanted to put something out to maybe generate some excitement. I noticed there are not many videos on YouTube of housebot. Well there is now one more out there! Here it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1g67gBHT2KE This is one of my themes and you may notice that I have ...

CurrentCost Envi CC128 script

Hi All, I thought I would share a new script I just got working. I have a CurrentCost Envi PowerMeter device that measures power for your house. It has clamps that hook to your house wiring and measures your current electricity usage. I am not a huge programmer but have managed to implement a very s...

Re: TCP Client Software Device Plugin

Thanks for the reply LostDreamer, No luck with that. Osler's code has the data being sent as a byte array which is what I think the problem is. So even if you put a \r\n the data is being interpreted as UTF-7 characters vice being interpreted as as a Carriage return. I tried recompiling the code (so...

Re: Squeezebox Touch

Wow, nice to see XaP in use! I am really glad folks are using it too. I am starting to work it in a bit using the XaP News and Weather into Housebot..they work well. Too bad the XaP forums do not see much development. I wish it would catch on more. Sorry for being off topic...but just wanted to give...

Re: TCP Client Software Device Plugin

Thanks Osler, I know it has been a long time on this topic. I gave up on trying to get the plugin working and then picked it up again. I finally got it working and you were correct with the IPV6 issue. The solution that is working for me is to add the IP address to the hosts file and then enter the ...

Re: Is Housebot dead ??? Last release April 2009

Dom, I have to respectfully disagree with you on that one. If you only require basic Home Automation capability Housebot is actually very well suited for a beginner. What Home Automation software does not require computer knowledge? I have been doing HA a very long time and have been through HomeSee...

Re: SWRemote vs Windows 8

Hi All, Housebot is still alive and kicking well at my house! I use it daily and it works very well! I am very excited about Timoh's work and others that have contributed here. I am not impressed with the naysayers and I don't mind saying it. A huge Shout Out to all those who have contributed to the...
