Funny, I was just looking at that myself. I think the best way to integrate it into HB would be by using Osler's browser plugin.

Re: swremote outside of network
Well, I've never heard of any vulnerabilities with HB, but that doesn't mean there isn't any. I think its probably more of a case of security-by-obscurity. HB isn't widely known, and the port isn't in the range of the script kiddie's default scans plus you could always move the wan-side port to some...

Re: swremote outside of network
Yeah it's a simple config. In your router, forward port 5015 to your HB server address and set up a free DynDNS.com account and load the updater client on your HB server - note, some routers have dynamic dns functionality built in so you wouldn't need the client. Dlink is one example. Dynamic DNS wo...

Re: Will the iPad have any application as a couch tablet?
The web-based app could be pretty nice with the html5 tricks that are available these days. That would require a web-server on HB too though of course. I second this option. This is what Google is doing to get gVoice on the iPhone when Apple denied their app. It makes a lot more sense. Going this d...

Re: Will the iPad have any application as a couch tablet?
Yeah I was watching it and may end up getting one. I thought it was smaller though - like maybe 10-12 inches, but I believe that's it's actually 15 which may be too large for my application. HB Swremotes should have no trouble at all on that platform.

Re: Will the iPad have any application as a couch tablet?
That's probably true. One thing Apple does well is to create a buzz and shake up the market. I would imagine that there will be several iPad competitors come out of the woodwork in the next 12 months. Good news for those of us that can't get enough toys...

Re: Will the iPad have any application as a couch tablet?
Yeah, if Scott wanted to release a legal app (one for a non-hacked device) he would have to either run it through the app store or create a web-based app. The web-based app could be pretty nice with the html5 tricks that are available these days. That would require a web-server on HB too though of c...

Re: Will the iPad have any application as a couch tablet?
That's true, but it's no different from the iPhone/iTouch, and it hasn't seemed to kill those deals too much. Some don't like it, but it's never bothered me. As someone who's been bitten by some of the trash that gets passed around by Windows Mobile developers, it's nice to me that Apple reviews cod...

Re: Will the iPad have any application as a couch tablet?
I know there's a lot of people that don't care for it because it won't come with hdmi, camera, foot-massager, lips, etc... but I for one can't wait to get one. I love using my iPhone as a remote using iRdesktop (free from app store) to a remote desktop session on the HB server, I only long for a lar...

Perhaps you missed the plugin when installing Housebot? Re-install and make sure to select "complete" for the install type. Let us know if that works for you.

Re: SW Remote on WindowsMobile Device Using DNS
FWIW, I had a friend who uses Verizon try to connect to a webserver I have through a no-ip.com dynamic DNS and it worked fine. If you can't figure out anything else with dyndns then maybe no-ip.com or another service will work for you.

Re: SW Remote on WindowsMobile Device Using DNS
Do you know if Verizon's DNS servers are correctly resolving your Dynamic DNS address? Do you have another way to test the resolution from the phone (teathering to a pc, web browse to dyndns address, etc...)? Also maybe you could try a different Dynamic DNS provider and perhaps Verizon can resolve t...
