Re: Weather.com Plug-in

Any chance of doing a correction for timezones? Even just an offset property that gets added in would do the trick. Ideally, grabbing the number from the OS so that daylight savings is accounted for. . . I didn't realised the observation_time was not set to the local time. I have noticed that there...

Where are they coming from? Nice one! saved me a job :D I got the names from some xml from the worldweatheronline.com forum ...

Re: Weather.com Plug-in

Although I feel a little let down. ;-) Sorry  the noaa.gov feed was not an option for me, being over in Essex, England. worldweatheronline.com does not return all the same data as weather.com did, but it seemed a good option with the current weather and a forecase for the next 5 days. I'll tr...

Re: Weather.com Plug-in

Hi All, I'm the developer of the c# weather.com plugin. I have just built a new one using the api from worldweatheronline.com. It will display current weather conditions and the next 5 days. You will need to get a license key, it's free from http://www.worldweatheronline.com/register.aspx Source cod...

Re: UK Modem with Caller Display (USB)?

Hi, I have a pci modem and it never really worked that well, would pick up caller id from the odd call. Last month a installed a cctv card and since then I get conflicting irq and it does not work at all. I think this might be the answer. Which one did you get? was it this... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/U...

Re: Wrapper for C# plugin development!

I also had the same issue, HouseBot crashed on startup due to the c# plugins. Then realised a Microsoft update installed framework4. So I uninstalled and all working fine. Phew!

Re: Heating

To monitor the temperature in the house for the heating thermostat, I use the following:

I have created a plug-in for housebot using the c# wrapper, let me know if anyone wants it.

Re: Heating

My Valliant boiler has a Live, Switched Live and Neutral connections for switching on the heating. I have been able to connect it to an X10 Appliance Micromodule. Works really well. All the logic to switch the heating on/off depending on time and temperature is done via a task in housebot, and contr...

Re: Ticker style Property Label

A scrolling property label in the software remote would be great. But for now I have created a simple script device that picks up the text from a device and does some string manipulation to give you a marquee effect. I don't think It's as smooth as a scrolling property label would be, but it works. ...

Re: Insufficient data in read buffer

Hi Scott, Thanks for your reply. I think I have found what is causing the issue. The new motherboard (this -> http://www.jetwaycomputer.com/NF96.html) has the option to have a plug-in daughter card that has another 4 rs232 ports. Unfortunately it seems that this is causing the issues with the CM12U....

Insufficient data in read buffer

Hi, I have just upgrade my HouseBot server to a new dual core atom, but am getting an issue with my CM12U. Seems to all work fine, then after a few hours I will start getting the following error: Error reading COM port. Error = Insufficient data in read buffer If I disable/enable the hardware device...

Re: HB mobile clients - what are you using?

I have been using a Samsung Q1 UMPC for the last year now. Picked it up pretty cheap on eBay. Battery life is not very good, but other then that I am very happy with it. Also now got Windows 7 running well.

Other advantage is that it work well for a bit of web browsing while watching tv.
