Re: System ported to W7 64bit

After closer inspection, I discovered at least a couple of blown capacitors on the motherboard (not surprising given its age). I just ordered all the parts to build a new PC. Now I just hope I'm able to get the entire configuration working on the new box.

Re: System ported to W7 64bit

This is very encouraging Richard. I'm running on very old hardware (still on the original PC I built back in 2005!). I've been wanting to rebuild for quite a while but I was worried about getting drivers for my various hardware. Now my hand is being forced. My HB server was acting strangely a few da...

Re: SWRemote on a tablet

I have yet to be able to find any prices (even speculative) on this. Have you seen anything Richard?

I already have an ExoPC. It came with Windows 7 and it currently running Windows 8 beta. It makes a very nice HouseBot SW remote.

Re: SWRemote vs Windows 8

Since we're so OT here its silly, how many HB users do you suppose we have? I get the feeling there might be 10-12 of us, based on forum participation. I still use and rely on it every day. I'm not on the forums much because - as has been said by many others, especially Richard - HouseBot just work...

Re: Wrapper for C# plugin development!

Hi Martijn, You have two default properties because you set the "Default" parameter to true for the first two properties (it's the third parameter in the HBProperty call). There should only be ONE default property per device. I'm not exactly sure what you are asking in question 2. Which pr...

Re: Serial device configuration question

Steve: I just got the Panasonic TV and since it supports RS-232 I never went hunting for IR codes. Sorry. Richard: you are right about running imports. It didn't work as well as I would have liked (I made a backup first though). I *was* able to look inside the hbx file though and figure out what I n...

Re: Serial device configuration question

Hi Richard, Somehow I figured it would be you that would answer. Coincidentally, it is for a new Panasonic Plasma TV that I just bought. As such I suspect the commands are exactly the same. If you wouldn't mind creating an export with all of the required components that would save me a bunch ...

Serial device configuration question

I'm about to create a new serial device. The protocol for this devices requires all strings to start with a 02H and end with a 03H. The actual command text is all ASCII though. The only way I can think to do this is to specify all the commands as hex values for each of the ASCII characters. I suppos...

Re: "Clock Radio" script

Hi, I love this idea! How did you write the database with the vacation days? thanks Raptor I just created a very simple database using Microsoft Access (this is also what I use to enter new dates). The structure is just one table with three columns. A unique ID column, DateOff and Comment (this fie...

Re: Uptimes

We’re all lucky that Scott is a stickler for quality and attention to detail. HouseBot is a single-author labor of love, and it shows. He has no QA, no Doc, and no support team (other than many of you who graciously share your knowledge on this forum), to do this, other than himself. Yet every rele...

Re: Wrapper for C# plugin development!

I realized that I actually have the source for the project on the laptop I took with me on vacation! :D Peter had previously given me permission to post this so here it is. There are two zip files. One contains the original source as Peter sent me and one contains my current build. Peter and I fixed...

Re: Wrapper for C# plugin development!

I'm out of town on vacation right now so I can't do much right now. I'll try to check in when I get back though and see if I can help.

Re: Wrapper for C# plugin development!

I'm sorry I haven't been able to be more active on this. I'm pretty busy at work right now and when I get home I'm not spending much time working on HB - just using and enjoying it  . When I was first testing the wrapper we discovered some issues with properties. I don't remember exactly what ...

Re: Wrapper for C# plugin development!

FYI - I've already written a plugin for a similar device (http://www.brultech.com/HomeEnergy/homemodels.html). I've been running the plugin for a month or so and it's working well. I'm even generating graphs using RRD and displaying them on a software remote.

Re: Wrapper for C# plugin development!

See the attached file for a very basic device written using the wrapper. This should compile and work on any HB installation.
