Re: Windows 10 - OK so far...
UIRT was resolved indeed using a downloaded driver which somehow was newer or just fresh? The main problem remains how W10 handles dual screen with HDMI. This seems to be a W7 problem as well for many but in my case all works fine on W7. I guess if you want extra touch capability on a ingle head sys...

Re: Action for Reload Theme?
Yes there is but through a button. Add a Menu Button to your theme. If you press it, you will get the same menu as a Right Click on a theme background. I disabled the Right Click option and added a menu button to be able to reload the theme. As for an automated restart of the theme, you can script t...

Re: Relay board?
FTDI is just your basic rs232 via USB. So you can use the Generic Serial device for that without any problems. As for LAN, it depends on what the commands look like. Below is a simple example of how I control my IP Power through LAN. Set objXML = CreateObject("Msxml2.ServerXMLHTTP.6.0") Ca...

Re: Relay board?
Amazing what you can buy for just 10$.
Not interfaced those units and not sure how to interface to USB unless it holds an FTDI chip. The LAN module should be easy to interface with.

And I tried some more 8) Resolved the permissions by downloading a tool auc-tweak. I found out the the Meedio service had the UAC option selected while looking at it in the taskmanager. If UAC was turned off, Meedio was able to write to its own dbases again. Resolved the auto update problem. Many pe...

Re: Windows 10 - OK so far...
Just gave up on W10. I resolved the issues with voice control. It took me a good while to change my settings from Dutch to English but finally I got my voice control back. I got .bat to work however it should run as administrator and a shortcut to a .bat file in de programs/startup menu cannot be ru...

Re: Windows 10 - OK so far...
Just installed W10 and gave it a try. Currently back @ W7. My findings so far: - No USB UIRT driver for W10 (Not a HB issue, but a bummer if I have to give up the UIRT) - No VoiceControl. Language was set to Dutch. Have to try US to make sure. However maybe some of you can tell me if W10 Voice Contr...

Re: Dynamic images from a URL
Lots of rss images are .gif although they are listed as .jpg. If you try to edit an image you can see the real container in the first few lines of code. HouseBot cannot display .gif images so if images don't show, it could be that HB does not support the file format.

iControl Web, Home Remote, Geofancy but also the Siti HomekitBridge running on a Raspberry Pi can output URL that can be inputted in HouseBot.

Re: HouseBot and Amazon Echo
Yesterday I kind of hacked the index.js script after studying which HomeKit services are available and added a GarageDoorOpener service. So the garagedoor previously labelled as Switch is now labelled GarageDoorOpener which changes the available phrases that go along with it. I can now call Siri and...

Re: HouseBot and Amazon Echo
Steve, Siri wakes up just by saying: Heh Siri on both the Phone or the Watch or the Pad. So no pushing buttons here. Since I use the Watch, I don't have to get the Phone out of my pocket either. Siri does have limitations. I wanted a scene called "Start Xbox" where it would start the Cinem...

Re: HouseBot and Amazon Echo
Last week I built the exact same thing but with Apple Siri instead. Used the HTTP plugin. Easy to set up and works fine using an Apple Watch: Heh Siri, Garage door open The http plugin can emulate a switch or a light giving it On/Off and Brightness control. Since I don't want to turn my Garagedoor O...

Re: External Control example
Since yesterday I stopped using Mongoose since HB_External control can now use http requests directly. Not sure if it has been released yet but it works great. Links must be something like this:

Re: External Control example
Would you arm the alarm or just push a notification that you forgot to arm? What if somebody is still home?
Geofences work but are still not flawless so it should be an aid versus a reliability.
Nice to have more people thinking about this because it is a nice new addition to HA
