Since everyone else from Alabama is posting, I though I might as well too. 8) I second the use of xAP/xPL, I use this now to talk between Zoneminder and Misterhouse on a limited basis. I understand somebody has written a complete interface for Mister house and (better) somebody is working on xAP for...

Sorry if this is over-simplified, I'm not sure of your familiarty with modem-stuff. :) Make sure your modem supports caller ID and that it is enabled inside the modem. I have seen modems where CID was dip-switch selectable and more often, it is turned on/off through AT commands. The particular comma...

For my needs, I actually found out that if I: 1. Launch 1st instance of the swremote 2. Change the Windows registry entry for the x and y position 3. Change Windows registry entry for the theme 4. Launch 2nd instance of the swremote I can get two different swremotes on the same computer, each runnin...

Multiple SW Remote instances
Scott, Is it possible to run multiple instances of the software remote on a single computer? I'm thinking about one computer with multiple touchscreens attached to multiple videocards with a separate SWremote on each touchscreen. ELO's touchscreen driver apparently supports multiple touchscreens so ...

I just downloaded the latest winamp (lite) and added the Winamp device in HB as a test to see if I could help. I see about 28 properties, and they seem to be active and changeable, but since I don't have an audio card in this box, I can't test audio at the moment. I'll see if I can dig one up tonigh...

Housebot on Cocoontech
Hey Scott, I don't know if you follow Cocoontech.com any, but there is a decent discussion going on over there about HB and several people are asking about it. People from Homeseer, Cinemar, CQC and other have representation there so I thought you may want to head over and do a little PR yourself. :...

Yeah, I was leaving out the hardware side, I already have all of that functionality in place. I can detect when the doorbell is pushed, and I can generate an image from the doorcam and store it when the doorbell is pushed; I'm just not sure of the steps required in HB to actually make the window pop...

Agreed. Do you know if it's possible to change a dynamic image on a SWremote when an event occurs? Example. The doorbell rings and a window pops up on one or more SWremotes with an image from the front door cam. Right now, I have a HB script that collects images from various webcams with wget.exe an...

Thanks for the reply Richard. I agree, it seems to be one of the very few things missing in HB. If one were to attempt to write it, would it be something that could be accomplished from a plug-in point of view or would it need to be part of the core of HB? If it could be done with a plugin, maybe ev...

Full-motion video stream
I've searched the forums with no real answer found... Is it possible to have an embedded webcam video stream in the software remote? I've done it with static and dynamic images, but would really like to have near real-time video. Is anyone doing this? If so, the next question is can it happen in a (...

How about Flash animated buttons? That would allow some really advanced buttons and indicators. As an example - I can report the position of my garage doors with a resolution of about 2 inches. A Flash indicator would allow me to have a moving garage door that I could stop in any position to correct...

I realize this has gotten off-topic from the original Z-wave question, but since we're talking about Insteon now... I too would be interested in any native Insteon support. I've been lurking in all of the HA forums just waiting to buy/implement whichever package supports it first. Indego (Macs only)...
