Re: Apparently Insteon is no more
Thanks. Me too - Alexa using HB to control stuff behind HB. At some point I guess I need to migrate toward ZWave or some other method of lighting control. (I'm surprised you or anyone else is still using X10. I had 1 or two stand-alone (non-HB) lighting control applications, but the hardware became ...

Apparently Insteon is no more
I know I’m late to the party here. But everything HB-related has been working flawlessly. But today, i chose to replace a failed Insteon wall switch with a spare. Then i discovered that Insteon (i.e. Smarthome/Smartlabs) is apparently out of business. This begs the question of what to replace Insteo...

Sensibo HVAC with Housebot?
Sensibo is a device that allows remote control of HVAC units (e.g mini splits) that are normally controlled via an IR remote. Their app (IOS, Android) allows you to set all (or virtually all) functions that you would normally do via the HVACs IR remote. In addition, geofencing, Amazon Alexa, etc, ti...

Re: HB Server crashing repeatedly
It seems that a Microsoft Security update on 10/14 may have been the culprit. I uninstalled one of the 3 installs done on 10/14 and the HBserver has not crashed since. And this is without the aid of any utilities that restart crashed programs. So, I’m cautiously optimistic. Note to self: If HB begin...

Re: HB Server crashing repeatedly
* Crashes are not creating dump files. * Need to check new/added programs... *Did discover (i.e. stumble upon) that when attempting to select/edit any of several themes - selection of which seems unimportant - that HBserver will crash. Have no clue what that would have to do with anything, because t...

Re: HB Server crashing repeatedly
Thanks; will check it out. In the meantime, I found several utilities that will monitor a program and restart it if it crashes. Probably not a bad idea even when HB runs without issues.

HB Server crashing repeatedly
HBServer is stopping at least once a day. Is there any way to trace the cause? Just started recently - within the last few weeks... maybe since the latest update/release but I really cannot be sure. To my knowledge, no other changes to the environment. Running Win10 and HB 3.53.03.

Re: Winamp control: Playing/Stop
Well, just never mind. I found the problem. I was misreading your suggestion to check that Gen_WinampProxy.dll be located in the Winamp\plugin directory. Even misread/misinterpreted the HB Winamp Help that says the same thing. I had not copied the proxy dll into C:\Program files (x86)\Winamp\Plugins...

Re: Winamp control: Playing/Stop
OK. It only seems to affect the Playing/Stopped action of a URL source. IIRC, playing MP3s via the Jukebox device worked OK, at least before the new Win 10 box. (This URL/Play action issue precedes the Win10 move though.) But for different unrelated reasons the Jukebox device no longer works. (Has t...

Re: Winamp control: Playing/Stop
1) The version of WInamp I was running was 5.66. I downloaded and installed 5.8. No change. 2) The Gen_WinAmpProxy.dll is in the /Plugins/Devices/Winamp_plugin directory 3) Only one Winamp is running. Clarification though: If I restart HB, Winamp does not start until I select Playing or presumably a...

That link looks a little goofy/incomplete. But if you right click and open in a new tab it should launch Winamp. Or you can 'inspect elements' to get the full unadulterated URL.

Winamp control: Playing/Stop
I'm using Winamp for MP3 playback (via the Jukebox device) as well as streaming URLs. I've run into an issue, where the Winamp device/plugin "Status" property (Stopped, Playing, Fast Forwarding, etc) is not actually controlling the Winamp program (agent?). The "play source" prope...

Re: HouseBotServer.exe command line switches?
I still need to do some testing/legwork on this. It APPEARS that, at least here, HB wants/needs to run as Admin. But what I haven’t determined is how to launch HB as admin from Startup. Seems like youre going to get the “Do you want to allow this app...” prompt, which of course you can’t answer from...
