Re: X10 interface for 240V 50Hz

Hi,

I bought a X10 signal booster from http://jvde.us/xtb_index.htm
Here in Australia we run single phase 240V 50Hz.

Re: Housebot & Vista

This administrator problem isn't just with Vista. It applies to XP/2000 also. The problem is really the result of a bad design decision to save many of the program settings in a part of the system registry that is shared by all users. Unfortunately, only administrators can write to this part of the...

Re: Help required - System Crash when adding XAP.

Hi,

So do I begin with a Doh :D

Yes it works when run as Administrator.

How do you stop windows performing the security check prompt (User Account Control) when you do run it this way?
I have changed the shortcut to always run as administrator but UAC windows still prompts.

Re: Help required - System Crash when adding XAP.

I just installed HB on XP SP3, added xAP and then created a xAP hardware interface and all went fine??? So it must be related to my 32bit Windows 7 Ultimate system. In the http://www.erspearson.com/xAP/HouseBot/# it says the below xAP Plugins for HouseBot v3 pre-requisites Microsoft Windows NT, XP, ...

Re: Help required - System Crash when adding XAP.

Thanks Richard,
It is a brand new database from the install. The only thing in the database is the xAP.
I'm trying to get xAP to work on HB.

Help required - System Crash when adding XAP.

Hi, Just to make sure the issue doesn't get lost in another subject, I'm putting my problem here as well In the post http://cebotics.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=857950&start=15 I added xAP to HB then tried to add the hardware device which followed with a crash and unable to restart. It in...

Using XAP?

Ben, To make xAP work you first need to understand/do a couple of things - 1. xAP is a UDP protocol that uses port 3639. Only one application on the PC can use this port. It cannot be shared. So to make xAP work with multiple applications on the same PC, a software based version of a network hub is ...

Re: New guy

Hi, I'm not a Housebot user yet but I'm just about to give it trial. I am however a long time Misterhouse user, so I know where you are coming from. I also use 1wire interfaces for Lighting,PIR & temperature. My understanding is that HB does not natively support 1wire/ibutton interfaces. It does...

Is Housebot dead ??? Last release April 2009

Hi All, I currently run MisterHouse and I came across this application and was very interested. Then I looked at the last version of the software and it's 3.30.02 April 27, 2009. Over 2 years since the last software release. So I ask the question, is Housebot dead in the water? Should I spend the ti...

Re: Serial I/O hardware & Generic Serial Plugin

Hi Richard & Steve, The in between controller (ie arduino) doesn't act as a software watchdog. Remember, I can reprogram the I/O board to any protocol. An advantage of the polling, is that if the I/O interface is for some reason reset (physically turned off/on, power glitch etc etc), it knows wh...

Re: Serial I/O hardware & Generic Serial Plugin

Hi Steve, Thanks for replying. In another life, I was a embedded hardware developer and I actually designed this board and wrote the firmware. My point being, I could change the firmware so that it didn't require polling but this negates the software based watchdog functionality. As per the example ...

Serial I/O hardware & Generic Serial Plugin

Hi, I have some I/O boards (8 inputs & 8 outputs) that are controlled via a RS232 or RS485. They work in a polled mode and they expect a PC to continually talk to them to keep the outputs set accordingly. Approximately every 500mS It's a 10 byte data stream that roughly looks like "STX, LEN...

Re: 1 wire xAP / DS9097U Help, updated 11-2-10

Hi All, This is now my second post to this site. I'm yet to download HB but I thought I would share my 1wire experience. I have a DS9097U-9 connected to my HA PC via a standard serial port. I have 12 I/O devices and 2 temperature devices on this network. It also has receptacles for the ibutton fobs....
