Re: Lamp won't work downstairs

It is probably in a different electrical circuit so you will probably need an x10 bridge to pass the signal from one line to the other.

Re: TEXT to SPEECH

For the first request you can do it in a multiple ways but basically in all of them the remote control will update a device parameter in Housebot and with this change you will set a condition to run the scene task. 1. If you want to use an IR remote you will need something like USB UIRT to detect th...

Re: New X-10, Old X-10, Insteon and Z-Wave ??????

In my case I have been using Insteon for 3-4 years. Before insteon I used X-10 but qiuckly changed to insteon because I needed 2-way communication. Since I bought most of my insteon devices (~35) when insteon was starting I got most of them for $20. Now they are more expensive but still less than Z-...

Problems with new Insteon switches

I bought two new insteon switches for my home and when I installed them I began having problems with the insteon PLM hardware interface. After sending a command I start receving a lot of "Unrecognized inteon character ..." errors and I keep getting them for like a minute. At the end of the...

Re: UPB support?

You read right. There is no UPB support in HB. (Insteon, X10, Z-wave are supported)

Re: Calling Sonos users

Now is working fine although I am still having issues getting the album art and queue size. I included in the script a workaround for them. For the album art I included some logic to look for the album art in the server HD (the files used when browsing the library) and it works OK. After some troubl...

Re: Calling Sonos users

Actually the server doesn't have any virus protection. I ran the script only for the one wired and I am still seeing the issues. It is interesting that if I hit one of the browser selections like "browse by artist" it takes from 1 to 5 mins an then change the list to the artists. The same ...

Re: Calling Sonos users

I have restarted several times de server. Also I disabled the firewall as well. I will try to install HB in another computer and test it from there to see if the issue is with the server.

Re: Calling Sonos users

Basically I am not able to control them from HB. For example, if I try to browse the Music library it doesn't get updated in HB. The interesting thing is that the transport state gets updated in HB if I change it using the sonos controller. If I hit mute from HB it changes in HB and after 10 secs it...

Re: Calling Sonos users

Osler, I just updated the software on the Sonos Controllers and after this last update I have started to have problems with the script and its communication with them. Right now I am getting the status from each controller but it is not accepting the commands sent from the script. Have you had any p...

Re: How to create two char. IR channel macro

I think that you have at least three options: 1. Configure an ir device command for each channel using the All Numeric option (refer to ir device help file) 2. Create a task for each channel sending the individual commands and then use a button to trigger the task instead of changing a property. 3. ...

Re: sw remote will not start from second pc

Probably I am wrong but I think that with the new version of the swremote you actually have to install it in the pc (run swremote_setup.exe) to be able to run the swremote.exe. I am not sure you can run the .exe file directly from the USB stick if you don't run the setup file first. It should be inc...

Re: Monitor closed contact event date, time, and duration?

Since it looks that is a dry contact you can use different technologies to track the status in Housebot. You can probably use insteon low voltage input/output device. I haven't use them for input but I imagine it can be set up as a on/off switch in HB. The other method, that I actually use, is throu...

Re: Calling Sonos users

Osler, have you seen something like the problem I mention above? I went back to the .wsc that came with script version 2.04a and the problem is gone. When I switch back to the version that came with script 2.05 or 2.1 I start to have the high CPU in the Services.exe process after several hours. Ever...

Re: Calling Sonos users

I don't know why but now after several hours my Services.exe process goes to over 35% cpu and stays there. I have to restart the server to solve it every time. Have you seen this behavior?
